The face of television audio has developed some interesting new wrinkles since we last looked at loudness—namely, immersive audio, objectbased audio and audio for personal devices.

File-based loudness processing, as one might expect, operates on audio files, either standalone, or extracted from an audio/video file such as MXF.

The CALM Act is nothing new, especially to those who have been working on loudness management for years.
